Will and Emma, our border collies

This is the story of our border collies, Will and Emma. The story began at ten weeks of age, shortly after we brought our puppies home. Now, almost two years later, we have all settled into a good routine, one which keeps me busy trying to make sure they get enough exercise and I get my work done. This will keep you up to date with what fun we have with them, new things they are learning and the challenges that we have in trying to balance all our activities and theirs, to keep us all happy.

Late Day at Kerncliff Park

Such a hazy afternoon it was at our favorite walking place in Burlington today, Kerncliff Park. This is a wooded area and is part of the Bruce Trail, which runs along the Niagara Escarpment. The mist made the late day sun throw beautiful rays through the woods, shown here. Emma sat on the trail looking down the hill sitting perfectly still in the perfect spot to get in the photo. I didn't realize why she was sitting so still until a couple of dogs and their owner appeared out of nowhere!

At the top of the hill just outside the wooded trail, a meadow is in full bloom, and was just beautiful swaying in the soft breeze. The town has been working on this meadow for a few years, and it's finally coming into its own this year - its just beautiful!

First Snow at Kerncliffe Park

Snow, finally! Only just a bit, and only up on the mountain in Burlington so far. I went for a walk with the Will and Emma, my sister, Lori and her Springer, Jazz. I think the dogs felt like they were in heaven with the snow in the air and on the ground. What a treat! We went to Kerncliffe Park, where the Bruce Trail winds along the side of the escarpment in north Burlington. It's one of our favorite places to let the dogs run off leash, which they love. Here's just a few shots from the day.
